Been watching news all night about Paris because my son happened to choose this weekend to go to Paris. He fortunately is unhurt but he is still there and so many people have died! What is wrong with these people who want to do this.

I didn't know it at the time because I was just a child. But I saw and met The Beatles many times before they became famous in my grandfather's house where they would come to play. My grandfather had a drum kit in his living room and many groups would come to his little house to hang out. My grandfather was the manager of another group in my hometown (can't say his name would give too much away). I wish I been more aware at the time of what was happening but I was too young. Exciting times. -

It is so sad that the R&F have no idea of what is going on behind the scenes. What is wrong with all the elders who get these directives. Why are there not more opening their eyes? They must see that this secrecy is wrong. I do hope the day comes soon when all of this is publicised. I fear though that it won't be in my lifetime. Many of you younger ones may live to see it. -

I was about 4 when my dad decided to join so felt like a born-in. Don't really remember a time when we weren't associated with the witnesses. -

Hi, River Song. Love your name. Hope you enjoy your day. Have lots of fun. My daughter has just gone to work dressed as a zombie, her makeup was amazing. My kids are grown up and now enjoy Halloween, (outside of my house). Unfortunately because my husband is still a jw I can't even give the kids who knock on our day any treats. I have always felt mean not doing that even when I was a witness. I truly believe it's just a bit of fun. Wishing all of you who able to do it a Happy Halloween. -

Did you like hymns as a jw?
by jean-luc picard ini was just explaining to mrs picard........ never a jw, and not english, how we used to celebrate the harvest festival, when i was 7 and younger, before my parents converted to jw'ism.. i loved to sing "we plough the fields and scatter".
of course, singing such hymns is, to a jw, paramount to apostasy, with the death penalty like punishment the ensued.. how really stupid their harsh rules.. did you have any favourite hymns?.
i think we would all agree, that they beat the pants off the "kingdom melodies".

Who would you like to hear of leaving the Jehovah's Witnesses ?
by wozza ini'll start off with this one:.
some years ago when i was formulating my exit, i employed for some time an ms brother from another congregation.. i'd had a couple of young "worldly" lads work for me but they proved unreliable as they used drugs or alchohol and consequently would'nt arrive at work and such like.. so when i was was contacted by this brother and spoke to him and heard he'd worked at the australian bethel for some time on construction and wanted an opportunity to learn the trade of bricklaying ,i thought ,"great someone to finally trust and be reliable".
he was in his 40's at the time and he worked like a trojan ,was honest ,really likeable and interesting ,could play the classical guitar beautifully ,had a beautiful family.

My youngest sister who won't give up on me. My used to be best friend. I miss her. She stopped seeing me after I asked some probing questions as to how she could want Armageddon to come when it meant her parents who weren't witnesses would die and wouldn't be resurrected. She gave me the "jehovah reads hearts" rubbish. When we all know they don't teach that. I wish my mum would too of course but she will never change now she's 85. Also my husband. Really awkward living with a witness as many of you know.
